Everything that is the visual lexicon of our communication is woven from elements that once reached our consciousness. Fragments of history, like threads in a woven carpet, intertwine to create an individual story. A story whose characters tempt again with their charm or disappear behind the veil surrounding their shapes. Its their ambiguous form of interaction, on the one hand promiscuous – almost provocative intrusiveness of corporeality, contrasts with melancholic fixation and hiding behind a veil.
On the other hand, the heroes of my paintings are flesh and blood figures tangled in a web of various dependencies and constraints. Those figures are also organically linked with the place in which they are presented. This allows me to suggest a direct relationship that is not just physical but is a mental relationship between individual characters and their surroundings.     But in regards to all the above, my works do not serve to illustrate or be a copy of old masters but rather to generate new meanings and create new associations. Drawing on the techniques and traditions of the past while incorporating modern elements and themes enables me to create works that are both visually innovative and respectful of the rich history of art. This process leads to the moment when I can invite the viewer to a world where gravity is ignored, distance collapses, time becomes suspended and accosted to a space of personal logic.
